wild and dreaming stories from the edge of the world

sarah

I am a child of the old westering hills, the rain & the left behind ghosts. I believe all of life is a love story, timeless, perfect truth. I have written 2 poetry volumes, 2 story books, an essay series, and a novel. My writing is generally described as lyrical, wistful, like fairytales, although I'm currently working on a romantic comedy.

I tend towards the wild sky rather than the earthy, the household rather than the moors. I believe that magic dwells not at the edgelands but in the between spaces, the relationship spaces, the silences that hold all possibilities. I believe a cup of tea is more powerful than a consecrated chalice, a bread knife more powerful than a sword, and the most enchanting spells of all are in everyday words.

  1. Sarah, this is one of the most beautiful "About" pages I have read! I followed you here from "Three," and I'm so glad I did. :)

(Oh, and I've downloaded a couple of your photos for my desktop, I really hope that is ok with you?)

  4. Thank you Amanda, what kind words :-) I don't think there's much hope for me stopping blogging, I am too loquacious!

I'm fine with you downloading my photographs for your desktop, thank you for your interest. I'm honoured that anyone would want to.

  9. I saw your essay Staying Gentle in Bella Grace and followed it to your blog. So nice. I save Bella Grace and reread it. I will enjoy navigating your blog. Did you know cicadas cover their hearing organisms because a swarm is so loud? from grandmanaturediary.blogspot.com
